Book Donation Drive (15 Nov 09)
“With our strength, we brought joy, relief and knowledge to all.”
On the 15th November 2009(Sunday), it is our finale for Book Donation drive. Throughout the 3 weeks of strenuous collection and tedious in sorting of books from the door-to-door visit at Pasir Ris area, I have already forgotten how many HDB blocks we have cleared within the 2 – 3hours session from each round of collection.
Our volunteers and us, we have the privileges of experiencing different people and situation such as unfriendly neighbours, scary dogs and even funny items donated but we also met kind, nice and very supportive people.
Though there was much perspiration, tiredness and all the fun and laughter in the course of our work, our effort was all paid off when I saw smiling faces on every needy family that came on that event day for the book as I realise our little effort have brought much relief and help to them. The sense of satisfaction was more than words that can actually express.
